What is Pilates?
Pilates is a form of low-impact exercise that emphasizes the balanced development of the body through postural awareness, and core strength and flexibility in order to support efficient, graceful movement. This can be done with simply a mat or through the use of revolutionary apparatus designed specifically for Pilates. With over 600 exercises to choose from, there is nothing quite like it.
In 10 sessions you will feel the difference. In 20 sessions you will see the difference. And in 30 sessions you will have a brand new body.
What Makes Pilates Different?
In contrast to isolating and training specific muscles, Pilates exercises train several muscle groups at once in smooth, continuous movements. Although repetitions are important, the quality and precision of movement is valued over quantity of repetitions. By developing proper technique, you can actually re-train your body to move in safer, more efficient patterns of motion. Among other benefits, those who do Pilates experience recovery from injury and/or long term chronic pains, enhanced sports performance, and improved posture. The reason for this success is that Pilates conditions the whole body, even the ankles and feet. No muscle group is over trained or under trained. Your entire musculature is evenly balanced and conditioned, helping you enjoy daily activities and sports with greater ease and less chance of injury.
Am I Someone Who Could Do Pilates? Due to the specialized attention you receive at our studio, anyone can be a candidate for Pilates. What Equipment Do You Use at your Studio? In addition to using a simple mat, we also have a Pilates Cadillac/Reformer, Wunda Chair, balls, tubes, and rings.
